GK Electricals, founded on 21st October 1982 by Mr. Ganesh Chandra Dutta, has grown from a modest beginning into a trusted name in the electrical industry.
The company started its journey with a limited stock and worked as a multi-brand distributor. In 1985, Mr. Dutta introduced GK Electricals’ own brand – “Nirmal”, which specialized in manufacturing copper and aluminium wires.
The Nirmal brand quickly gained recognition for its quality, durability, and reliability in the local market of West Bengal. Over the years, its strong performance and customer trust enabled Nirmal wires to become a household name in the state.
Today, after more than 25 years of excellence, Nirmal wires dominate the aluminium wires market in West Bengal, standing as a symbol of quality craftsmanship and customer satisfaction.

About the Founder
Mr. Ganesh Chandra Dutta, the visionary founder of GK Electricals, was born on 14.06.1956 in a humble family in his native village. Despite limited resources, his determination and hard work shaped his inspiring journey.
In 1970, he moved to Kolkata in search of opportunities and began his career as an employee in a government bank. While working there, he nurtured a dream of becoming an entrepreneur. With courage and persistence, he overcame numerous challenges and began his business journey by supplying electrical products to local retailers.
By the end of 1982, his dedication and entrepreneurial spirit led to the establishment of GK Electricals. What started as a small venture with limited stock gradually grew into a trusted name in the electrical industry. His vision and commitment laid the foundation for the company’s flagship brand, Nirmal Wires, which today dominates the aluminium wire market in West Bengal.
